Packing Tips for Your Paphos Move: A Room-by-Room Checklist

Packing materials you actually need
- Double-walled cardboard boxes in two sizes (small for books, medium for everything else)
- Bubble wrap and clean packing paper
- Mattress and sofa covers
- Strong tape and a good marker
- Stretch film for drawers and chair legs

Kitchen
Plates go vertically in small-to-medium boxes, wrapped individually with paper between them. Glasses go upright with paper inside each one, then wrapped. Pots and pans nest together. Knives are wrapped in a kitchen towel and taped. Empty the fridge 24 hours in advance, defrost overnight, and dry the inside before moving day.
Bedroom
Mattresses go into mattress bags — they slide around in the truck and pick up dust quickly. Bed frames are dismantled and bolts go into a labelled ziplock taped to the frame. Hanging clothes are best left on hangers and bagged together; folded clothes go straight into suitcases you'd be moving anyway.
Living room
TVs are best moved in their original boxes; if not, wrap the screen in a soft blanket, then bubble wrap, and stand it upright in the van. Books go in small boxes only — large ones get heavy fast and tear at the bottom. Pictures are wrapped in paper, taped, then stood vertically against a padded surface.
Bathroom
Throw away anything almost empty before you move — it's not worth the weight or the risk of leaks. Toiletries go into a sealed plastic box. A small "first night" bag with toothbrush, towel and basic shampoo saves a lot of frustration on day one in your new Paphos home.
Children's rooms
Let kids pack a small box of their favourite toys themselves and label it. It gives them something to focus on and the box is the first thing we deliver into their new room.
Labels that actually help
Label every box with the room it goes to in the new home, not where it came from. Add one or two key words about contents — "kitchen — glasses" is much more useful than just "kitchen".
