Night before

• Defrost the fridge and dry it inside
• Charge phones, power banks and laptops
• Pack a "first night" bag with toiletries, medication and a change of clothes
• Confirm parking arrangements at both addresses

Morning of the move

• Final walkthrough — fridge, dishwasher, washing machine, attic, balcony
• Take meter readings (water, electricity)
• Keep keys, IDs, and important documents on you personally
• Make sure children and pets are with someone safe

During the move

Don't try to lift things yourself — let the crew work. Be available for questions about where things go in the new home. A clear floor plan posted on the wall helps enormously.

First night

Make the bed first. Plug in the fridge. Find the kettle. Order food. Unpacking starts tomorrow.
